The Rural Electrification Agency, under the Nigeria Electrification Project, certified that the plant entered commercial use on 13 October 2021 , for a total contract value of US$41,144,857.96 . The contract was awarded on 3 March 2020 under reference REA-NEP/C/GO/RFP/47/25E, following a proposal submitted on 8 January 2020, and the Agency issued its certificate on 3 November 2021.
